Here you may choose to nominate a person (faculty or staff) whom you feel exhibits outstanding moral integrity, has gone above and beyond the call of duty, and\/or exemplifies Tusculum University’s mission, vision, and values.<\/h3>\n

Please have a look at the following guidelines regarding the President’s GEM Award:<\/p>\n

GUIDELINES<\/h4>\n
\n

Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n

To recognize and reward outstanding employees.<\/p>\n

Frequency<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monthly or as required to coincide with the President\u2019s Coffee or alternate gathering if conflict with President\u2019s Coffee. \u00a0As notified by the President\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n

Consists of 5 faculty or staff members, or combination, with exception of Cabinet members.\u00a0 Committee members are approved by the president.\u00a0 Serves for 1 year from September \u2013 May.\u00a0 Meets as needed to vote on nominations during the academic year only. \u00a0Post selection, the committee chairman informs the recipient\u2019s cabinet member to ensure the recipient\u2019s attendance at the President\u2019s Coffee.\u00a0 Chairman also notifies marketing so that the certificate can be prepared and recognition placed on electronic marquees.\u00a0 Gives copies of the recipient\u2019s nomination forms to the President so excerpts can be read at the presentation.\u00a0 Provides Human Resources with a copy of nomination for employee\u2019s file.\u00a0 Maintains a list of recipients.<\/p>\n

Nominees<\/strong><\/p>\n

No member of the President\u2019s Cabinet or President\u2019s GEM Award Committee is eligible while serving on the committee. All other faculty and staff from all campuses who have been employed for a minimum of one year.<\/p>\n

Nominations<\/strong><\/p>\n

May be made by any faculty, staff, student or other person.\u00a0 Submitted electronically by the second Friday of the month in which the President\u2019s Coffee is held.\u00a0 Will remain in the nomination pool for 3 elections.\u00a0 Forms are available via link on the Tusculum University website.\u00a0 Only one submission per person per month.<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n

Someone who exhibits integrity, a positive attitude, a spirit of excellence in their daily work, and a dedication to Tusculum University and students through their interaction and work.\u00a0 Someone who \u201cgoes the extra mile\u201d, makes the Tusculum Family stronger and contributes to the University\u2019s Judeo Christian environment. The nominee exemplifies the University\u2019s mission, vision and values.<\/p>\n

Selection of Recipients<\/strong><\/p>\n

Committee members each select their top 5 choices from the nomination pool, listing them in order of preference. First choice is assigned 5 points, second choice 4 points, third choice 3 points, etc. All points are tallied and the nominee with the highest number of points receives the award.<\/p>\n

Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n

The recipient receives a framed certificate and a choice of parking space (with sign) for a month or $30 gift certificate from TU Bookstore or Chartwells. The recipient is announced and awards presented at the President\u2019s Coffee or other designated time as well as on electronic marquees across campus.<\/p>\n<\/div>
