Here you may choose to nominate a person (faculty or staff) whom you feel exhibits outstanding moral integrity, has gone above and beyond the call of duty, and/or exemplifies Tusculum University’s mission, vision, and values.

GUIDELINES
Purpose
To recognize and reward outstanding employees.
Frequency
Monthly or as required to coincide with the President’s Coffee or alternate gathering if conflict with President’s Coffee. As notified by the President’s Office.
Committee
Consists of 5 faculty or staff members, or combination, with exception of Cabinet members. Committee members are approved by the president. Serves for 1 year from September – May. Meets as needed to vote on nominations during the academic year only. Post selection, the committee chairman informs the recipient’s cabinet member to ensure the recipient’s attendance at the President’s Coffee. Chairman also notifies marketing so that the certificate can be prepared and recognition placed on electronic marquees. Gives copies of the recipient’s nomination forms to the President so excerpts can be read at the presentation. Provides Human Resources with a copy of nomination for employee’s file. Maintains a list of recipients.
Nominees
No member of the President’s Cabinet or President’s GEM Award Committee is eligible while serving on the committee. All other faculty and staff from all campuses who have been employed for a minimum of one year.
Nominations
May be made by any faculty, staff, student or other person. Submitted electronically by the second Friday of the month in which the President’s Coffee is held. Will remain in the nomination pool for 3 elections. Forms are available via link on the Tusculum University website. Only one submission per person per month.
Qualifications
Someone who exhibits integrity, a positive attitude, a spirit of excellence in their daily work, and a dedication to Tusculum University and students through their interaction and work. Someone who “goes the extra mile”, makes the Tusculum Family stronger and contributes to the University’s Judeo Christian environment. The nominee exemplifies the University’s mission, vision and values.
Selection of Recipients
Committee members each select their top 5 choices from the nomination pool, listing them in order of preference. First choice is assigned 5 points, second choice 4 points, third choice 3 points, etc. All points are tallied and the nominee with the highest number of points receives the award.
Awards
The recipient receives a framed certificate and a choice of parking space (with sign) for a month or $30 gift certificate from TU Bookstore or Chartwells. The recipient is announced and awards presented at the President’s Coffee or other designated time as well as on electronic marquees across campus.
